Ola Awonubi was born in London, England to Nigerian parents. After completing their studies, Ola Awonubi left for Nigeria. In Nigeria she studied Business Administration at Lagos State Polytechnic. In the early nineties Ola Awonubi  returned to England where she spent three years taking intermediate and advanced writing courses at the Centerprise Literature Development project in Hackney. Following this Ola Awonubi studied for an MA in Creative writing and Imaginative Practice at the University of East London.

 

In 2008 her short story The Pink House, won first prize in the National words of colour competition and another short story of hers The Go- slow Journey, won the first prize in the fiction category for Wasafiri’s New writing prize 2009. Some of her short stories feature on the African writing.com, Brittle Paper, Afreada and naijastories.com .

 

Ola Awonubi has two books; Love’s Persuasion and Love Me Unconditionally published by Ankara Press – the romance imprint of Cassava Republic Press, Abuja. Nigeria.
