Nnedi Okorafor is a multi-award-winning novelist of African-based sci fi, fantasy and magical realism. Born in the USA to Nigerian immigrant parents, Nnedi is a professor of creative writing and literature at the University of Buffalo. She is the winner of Hugo, Nebula and World Fantasy Awards, and the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa.
Nnedi Okorafor was born in the United States to Nigerian parents. She holds a PhD in English and is a professor of creative writing at Chicago State University. She resides in the suburbs of Chicago with her daughter, Anyaugo. Her first novel Zahara the Windseeker won the Wole Soyinka Prize for African Literature and was shortlisted for the Parallax Award and Kindred Award. Her latest novel Who Fears Death won the world Fantasy Award in 2011.
