We do not pretend that we are a charity or that our aim is not to make money. However, our plan is to plough back every kobo we make back into producing more publications and ensuring that our writers can make a career out of their art. Cassava Republic is therefore a social enterprise, focused on transforming profits into social value.  

At present, we are a long way from quitting our day jobs, but we hope that someday we’ll be able to and bring more people on board.   Currently, the press is entirely funded through our own savings, book sales and donations to schools and sponsorship from individuals and companies for our tours and writers’ workshops.
